Molino A Vento Pinot Grigio Catarratto 2007

''Sicily continues to shine as Italy's star performer'', wrote The Times.

With 180,000 hectares under vine, it produces more than double the amount of wine that Australia does and with an excellent climate for viticulture, has enormous potential. Over the last decade, there has been a great deal of investment both in new vineyards and updating cellars.

Indeed, stars such as Gerard Depardieu and Mick Hucknall (of the band Simply Red), have bought wine properties there too. Molino a Vento is named after the many windmills you will see if you visit the west side of Sicily.

The wine is made largely from the world's most popular white grape variety, Pinot Grigio.

A portion of Catarratto - an indigenous variety - adds extra richness and complexity.
