Baron De Turis 2007
A crisp, citrussy-fresh white from eastern Spain.
Valencia is in fact Spain's largest port, its third most important city and capital of the Valencia region.
With pleasant beaches, streets lined with orange trees and a lovely Mediterranean climate, it's the Summer get-away destination of choice for the people of Madrid. Valencia is also the home of Spain's national dish, paella.
No surprise when you learn it's Europe's largest rice producer with the most extensive paddyfields outside Asia. And of course the area has a long and impressive history of wine production too.
As early as the 17th century, King Felipe VI demanded residents pay a special tax on local wines due to their superior quality. This refreshing, aromatic blend of Malvasia and Moscatel is made by award-winning winemaker Juan Pico Lozano at the Baronia de Turis cellar which was founded in 1920.
