Barone Paladino Pinot Grigio 2008
Sicily is fully earning its reputation as one of the most exciting wine regions of Italy.
The island's warm, sun-soaked climate produces a rich, spicy style of wine, yet with excellent freshness thanks to cooling coastal breezes and the relatively high altitude of the steeply sloping vineyards. The fruit for this citrus-fresh white come from the Taschetta family, who have been growing grapes on the island for three generations.
The wine is nearly all Pinot Grigio, with just a splash of its cousin Pinot Bianco for extra zingy character. This fresh, lively white makes a characterful aperitif. Enjoy with chicken in a creamy lemon sauce, salmon with lemon-infused rice or chilli and crab spaghetti.
